Farm Product Imports & Exports in May
By CnAgri2013-07-01 13:40:52 Print According to the customs, China’s farm product imports and exports valued RMB9.8 billion and $5.65 billion respectively in May, creating a trade deficit of $4.15 billion, down 0.3%, up 7.2% but down 8.99% respectively on the year-on-year basis.Farm product import value accounted for 6.04% of the nation’s total import value in May and farm product export value accounted for 3.1% of the nation’s total export value.
Of the imports, 850,000 MT were major grains, 5.1 million MT soybeans and 720,000 MT other kinds of grains, down 38%, down 3.4% but up 23.4% respectively on the year-on-year basis. They were imported at $365/MT, $609/MT and $306/MT respectively, up 7.6%, up 1.3% but down 11.8% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
