High Fishmeal Price Expected in 2013
By CnAgri2013-04-07 11:08:22 Print China’s fishmeal price went up 55% in the first quarter of this year on the year-on-year basis.Imported fishmeal stock at Chinese ports added up to 120,000 MT at the end of March, a collapse of 41% on the year-on-year basis. Tight supply is presumed to lead to a high fishmeal price this year.
More than 50% of China’s fishmeal imports come from Peru each year. It is predicted that fishmeal production may decrease 26% in Peru this year from last year, as a result of excessive ocean catch. This may affect world fishmeal supply this year.
