Government Tenders for Fertilizer Reserve

China Agriculture Report By CnAgri2013-09-16 11:33:10China Agriculture Report Print The State Development Commission issued on September 6 an invitation for bids regarding fertilizer reserve during the slack season of consumption in 2013/2014. The reserve plan consists of 12.25 million MT fertilizer reserve and 700,000 MT special phosphorus reserve.

The government enlarged reserve volume this year for two reasons: First, fertilizer consumption grows each year, requiring more reserve. Second, the reserve program attempts to ease market surplus.

Fertilizer reserve programs used to help bring up market sales and price. But considering the current heavy market surplus and low export price, this year’s reserve program is expected to have little impact on the market.
