China Feed Production to be 204 million MT in 2013

Recently, some market agency forecasts domestic industrial feed production in 2013 shall exceed 200 million MT for the first time to 204 million MT, increasing 9.515 million MT compared with 2012.

Firstly, inventories of live pig and basic sow keep at a high level in 2013. Meanwhile, large scaled breeding and feed industries continue increasing capacity input, which significantly stimulates production of live pig industrial feed.

Secondly, with prices rising of dairy products this year, farmers’ income increased compared with last year. Industrial feed’s ratio saw increase from last year. Various ruminant feed production all increased from last year.

Thirdly, influenced by avian flu and put of breeding youngs, production of meat poultry, layers and aquatic products. In overall, growth of pig feed and ruminant feed production exceeds decline of poultry feed and aquatic feed production, so the total productions showed increase.

According to BOABC, however, ruminant feed production in some China enterprises saw no significant increase in 2013. As for cow breeding profit, it saw no great rising as well and quiting cow farming condition saw no improvement.
