Import of Infant Formula Milk Powder in Oct. 2013

During the first ten months of 2013, the import of infant/young child’s formula milk powder (HS19011000) stood at 100,639 tons, up 39.55% year on year, the average import price was 11.80 US dollars/kg (CIF), up 3.19% year on year. Of which the import in October was 10,850 tons at the average price of 12.30 US dollars/kg. The origins were mainly New Zealand, the Netherlands, France, Singapore and Denmark.
The Fonterra Clostridium botulinum incident winded up based on the investigation result that there had not been such a thing. The negative impacts vanished and import of infant/young child’s formula milk powder from New Zealand resumed.
