Fertilizer Export Saw Improvement in Feb. 2014

China’s urea exports registered 710,000 MT in Feb., a growth of 131.6% on the year-on-year basis and of 18.7% MOM. Urea supply was surplus in domestic market and some manufacturers had great pressure in inventory. Under the condition of serious imbalance of supply and demand, export may be a major way of relieving the issue. But urea export price was hard to increase as international price continued declining. Urea export price was $310/MT in Dec.,  down 15.2% YOY and up 4.7% MOM.

DAP export volume and price recorded 253,000 MT and $422.2/MT in Feb., up 400%  and down 21% respectively on the year-on-year basis and up 98.6% and up 7.9% respectively MOM. MAP export volume and price recorded 102,000 MT and $416.8/MT in Feb., up 302.6% and 4.75% respectively MOM.

 As for low concentration fertilizer, exports of AS, ammonium chloride, ammonium nitrate, TSP, SSP and NP compound fertilizer registered 287,000MT, 18,000MT, 40,000MT, 19,000MT, 74,000MT and 34,000MT respectively, basically unchanged, up 40.6%, down 5.7%, down 44.3%, up 133.8% and up 46.4% respectively MOM.
