in 2016, the area, output and per unit area yield of cereal respectively were 94.498 million hectares(down by 1.34%), 568 million tons (down by 0.81%) and 6015kg/hectare; the area, output and per unit area yield of beans respectively were 9.689 million hectares, 16.766 million tons and 1730kg/hectare, separately increasing 9.25%, 6.63% and -2.40%; the area, output and per unit area yield of potatoes respectively were 9.122 million hectares(up by 3.21%), 34.316 million tons (up by 3.18%) and 3762kg/hectare (slightly decreased).

As for grain production in 2017, the sown area of main cereals declines to some extent, and the production of various coarse cereals recovers. The sown area, output and per unit area yield of all cereals respectively are 93.388 million hectares, 567.8 million tons and 6078kg/hectare, separately increasing -1.06%, -0.02% and 1.05%; the sown area, output and per unit area yield of beans respectively are 10.219 million hectares, 17.884 million tons and 1750kg/hectare, separately increasing 5.47%, 6.67% and 1.14%; the sown area, output and per unit area yield of potatoes respectively are 9.348 million hectares, 35.508 million tons and 3798kg/hectare, separately increasing 2.47%, 3.47% and 0.98%. Due to good earning position, potato production recovers.

The sown area of beans in domestic will reach the peak of 10.796 million hectares by 2020, and output and per unit area yield respectively will be 1.884 million tons and 1747kg/hectare. Affected by lower per unit area yield, the effect of policies will lose completely, sown area starts to stop rising. By 2030, the sown area, output and per unit area yield respectively will be 10.269 million hectares, 19.023 million tons and 1852kg/hectare. Beans sees lowest growth in per unit area yield among various grain crops.

As for potatoes, the sown area, output and per unit area yield respectively will reach 9.815 million hectares, 38.427 million tons and 3915kg/hectare by 2020 and 10.745 million hectares, 47.749 million tons and 4444kg/hectare by 2030.

In terms of cereal, the sown area, output and per unit area yield respectively will reach 9.2984 million hectares, 579 million tons and 6226kg/hectare by 2020 and 96.976 million hectares, 646 million tons and 6666kg/hectare by 2030.
