In 2017, China Imported 2.828 Million m³ of Oak, up 26.9% YoY

In 2017, China’s imports of Oak (log and sawn timber) increased 26.9% and reached 2.828 million cubic meters. Some features of the Fir and Spruce imports are presented as follows:
A 57.6% was sawn timber and its percentage decreased 4.3% from 2016. The proportion of sawn timber has been more than 50% since 2009.
B The imports of Oak logs increased 41.3% from 2016, while the imports of Oak sawn timber increased 18.0% from 2016.
C 86.9% of the Oak log imports mainly came from five countries and the proportion was: France, 29.3%. the United States, 28.9%. Russia, 14.9%. Germany, 7.10%. Belgium, 6.6%.
D 98.4% of the Oak sawn timber imports mainly came from five countries and the proportion was: the United States, 80.80%. Russia, 11.80%. France, 2.90%. Canada, 2.20%. Germany, 0.60%.
E The average annual price of Oak log was 330.39 USD/m³ in 2017, a year-on-year increase of 11.0%; the average annual price of Oak sawn timber  was 609.81 USD/m³ in 2017, up 4.6% year on year.
