Monsanto India posts net profit of Rs 1.54 cr in Q4

Monsanto India Ltd (MIL) posted a standalone net profit of Rs 1.54 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, due to higher income.

It had posted the net loss of Rs 7.61 crore in the same quarter of the 2011-12 fiscal, the company said.

Total income rose to Rs 69 crore in the quarter as against Rs 36.34 crore in the year ago period.

Net sales jumped 93.1% to Rs 69.04 crore compared with the same period of  2012.

Monsanto India, a 72.14% subsidiary of the Monsanto Company, US, focuses on maize seed and agrochemical.
