BASF's new formulation and packaging plant breaks ground in Jiangsu, China

BASF announced in May several investments and initiatives for agriculture in Asia Pacific, including the establishment of this plant for formulation and packaging for fungicides, insecticides and herbicides products. Located in the Rudong Coastal Economic Development Zone, it is the first plant for BASF’s Crop Protection division in China, one of the most important growth markets for agriculture.
“At BASF, we are working together with farmers to help solve one of the world’s most important issues: feeding an ever growing population,” said Dr. Raman Ramachandran, Senior Vice President, BASF Crop Protection Asia Pacific, “With an innovation-driven product portfolio, such as the AgCelence® portfolio for plant health, we help farmers to increase the yield and quality of their crops so that they can provide consumers with the safe, high quality food they expect.”
“This new plant will enable BASF to be much more efficient and flexible in production, so that we can react quickly to changes in the market and directly address the needs of our partners and growers in China and enhance sustainable development in China’s agriculture industry in the long term.” added Dr. Zheng Daqing, Senior Vice President, Business & Market Development BASF Greater China.
