Sales Prices of Residential Buildings in 70 Medium and Large-sized Cities in August 2013

Comparing with the previous month, among 70 medium and large-sized cities, the sales prices of newly constructed commercial residential buildings declined in 2 cities, that of 2 cities remained at the same level, and that of 66 cities increased. For the price changes month-on-month, the highest increase was up by 1.7 percent, the lowest was down by 0.1 percent.
Comparing with the same month of last year, the sales prices of newly constructed commercial residential buildings decreased in 1 city, and increased in 69 cities. In August, for the price changes year-on-year, the highest increase was up by 19.3 percent, the lowest was down by 2.3 percent.
II. Sales Prices of Second-Hand Residential Buildings
Comparing with the previous month, the sales prices of second-hand residential buildings decreased in 5 cities, that of 7 cities remained at the same level, and that of 58 cities increased. For the price changes month-on-month, the highest increase was up by 1.6 percent, the lowest was down by 0.3 percent.
Comparing with the same month of last year, the sales prices of second-hand residential buildings decreased in 2 cities, and increased in 68 cities. In August, for the price changes year-on-year, the highest increase was up by 16.4 percent, the lowest was down by 4.9 percent.

1. Since January 2011, NBS started to implement “Survey Program on Sales Prices of Residential Buildings”.
2. Survey Coverage: The survey was conducted in the municipal districts of 70 medium and large-sized cities, excluding the countries.
3. Survey Methods: The data of sales price, floor space and amount of money directly came from the network transaction records data of local real estate management departments. The survey of sales prices of second-hand residential buildings was non-overall survey, integrating key-point investigation with typical investigation, combing the methods of real estate brokerage agency reporting, real estate management departments providing, as well as investigator obtaining prices on the spot, to collect the basic data.
4. The newly constructed residential buildings includes affordable housing, the newly constructed commercial residential buildings excludes affordable housing.
5. The calculation of the price indices can be seen in the “Survey Program of the Sales Prices of Residential Buildings”, on the website of National Bureau of Statistics of China.
