In September 2013, the total retail sales of consumer goods reached 2,065.3 billion yuan, up by 13.3 percent year-on-year (nominal growth rate. The real growth rate was 11.6 percent. The follows are nominal growth rates if there’s no additional explanation). Of the total, the retail sales of consumer goods of industrial enterprises (units) above designated size was 1，052.6 billion yuan, increased 12.4 percent. From January to September, the total retail sales of consumer goods reached 16,881.7 billion yuan, up by 12.9 percent year-on-year.
In terms of different areas, the retail sales of consumer goods in urban areas was 1,760.6 billion yuan in September, up by 13.1 percent, year-on-year; while that in rural areas was 304.7 billion yuan, up by 14.8 percent, year-on-year. From January to September, the retail sales of consumer goods in urban areas was 14,579.9 billion yuan, up by 12.7 percent, year-on-year; while that in rural areas was 2,301.8 billion yuan, up by 14.5 percent, year-on-year.
In terms of different consumption patterns, the catering services in September gained 225.9 billion yuan, up by 9.1 percent, year-on-year. The retail sales of goods gained 1,839.4 billion yuan, up by 13.9 percent, year-on-year. From January to September, the catering services gained 1,817.8 billion yuan, up by 8.9 percent, year-on-year; the retail sales of goods gained 15,063.9 billion yuan, up by 13.4 percent, year-on-year.
The retail sales amount of goods of enterprises (units) above designated size was 979.2 billion yuan, up by 13.5 percent. From January to September, the retail sales amount of goods of enterprises (units) above designated size was 7,872.9 billion yuan, up by 12.1 percent.
