Bearish Fertilizer Price in 2012

China Agriculture Report By CnAgri2013-01-21 12:27:56China Agriculture Report Print Fertilizer price went south in 2012 from the previous year. Ukrainian (Yuzhnyy) urea export price and US (Tampa) DAP export price dropped 4.1% and 13% respectively from the previous year. China’s urea export price slipped 7.9% last year on the year-on-year basis.
 
China’s fertilizer export volume and value registered 17.5 million MT and $6.9 billion in 2012, down 7% and 12% respectively on the year-on-year basis, resulting in downslope fertilizer price in the domestic market and affecting producers’ profit.
 
Taking advantage of growing potassium self-supply, Chinese buyers eventually made international potassium giants compromise in potassium price during import negotiations in the second half of last year.
