Fertilizer Raw Material Production in 2012

China Agriculture Report By CnAgri2013-01-29 11:31:55China Agriculture Report Print Synthetic ammonium production recorded 4.465 million MT in December of 2012 and 54.06 million MT in 2012, up 13.5% and 7.6% respectively on the year-on-year basis. The growth rate of synthetic ammonium production paralleled that of nitrogen production (7.2%).
 
Sulfur production and imports registered 4.651 million MT and 11.203 million MT respectively in 2012, up 25.5% and 17.6% respectively on the year-on-year basis. Sulfur consumption was estimated to be 11 million MT last year, merely 70% of supply, attributable to the slow growth of phosphorus production and large quantities of sulfur imports. Sulfur import price went down from $206/MT in May to $175/MT in December.
 
Sulfuric acid production was 75 million MT last year, 3.3% more than the previous year.
 
Phosphorite production was 84.78 million MT in 2012, an increase of 12.9% on the year-on-year basis. But phosphorite exports were merely 480,000 MT, a slip of 26.9% on the year-on-year basis.
