China’s soyoil, rapeseed oil, peanut oil, cottonseed oil and sunseed oil production increased from 3.24 million MT, 4.175 million MT, 2.115 million MT, 900,000 MT and 335,000 MT in 2000/2001 to 11.751 million MT, 5.362 million MT, 2.646 million MT, 1.566 million MT and 404,000 MT in 2012/2013 respectively, suggesting an annul growth rate of 11.3%, 2.1%, 1.9%, 4.7% and 1.6% respectively. It is predicted that soyoil production may go up slowly in the next five years because of weak demand for soymeal, rapeseed oil production may go up moderately. Peanut oil production may drop due to increasing peanut consumption for food use. Cottonseed oil production may drop on account of falling cotton acreage and sunseed oil production may go up if sunseed imports go up.
