Wheaten & Rice Food Production in February

China Agriculture Report By CnAgri2013-04-03 11:15:21China Agriculture Report Print The productions of instant noodles and fast-frozen wheaten and rice food by medium and large mills registered 696,000 MT and 477,000 MT respectively in February, down 2.9% and 23.3% respectively from the month before, but up 16.97% and 74.09% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
 
Instant noodles production totaled 1.413 million MT and fast-frozen wheaten and rice food 1.099 million MT in January ~ February, up 23.62% and 102% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
 
By the officially promulgated figures, instant noodles production increased 15.8% and fast-frozen wheaten and rice food production increased 40.3% in February and their productions added 23.4% and 63.8% respectively in January ~ February, all compared with the same period of last year.
 
Cracker and cake productions were estimated to be 813,000 MT and 131,100 MT respectively in February.
 
Wheaten and rice food production added up to 1.672 million MT in February, down 14.1% from the month before but up 27.05% on the year-on-year basis.
 
It is estimated that 959,000 MT flour was consumed for wheaten food production in February, 10.96% less than the month before but 16.64% more than the same period of last year. 2.037 million MT flour was consumed for wheaten food production in January ~ February, an increase of 21.21% on the year-on-year basis.
 
Wheaten food producers’ flour consumption equaled to 10.77% of medium and large flourmills’ production in January and 10.6% of their production in January ~ February.
 
145,900 MT rice was consumed in January and 326,300 MT in January ~ February for rice food production, up 144.46% and 58.16% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
