China Plywood Products May Suffer Whole Rejection in America

China Agriculture Report By CnAgri2013-04-07 11:17:23China Agriculture Report Print On March 3rd, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced the preliminary adjudication of countervailing duty on hardwood and decorative plywood products imported from China: the countervailing duty rate of the 3 respondent enterprises is zero (including Linyi Dongfang Jinxin Economic and Trade Co. Ltd., Lniyi Shengfuyuan Woods Industry Co. Ltd. and Shanghai Senda Woods Industry Co. Ltd.), 27.16%, the 15 enterprises that did not respond to the survey and 22.63%, other hundreds of manufacturers that involved in. According to lawyers, the calculation method of the tax rate is neither reasonable nor legal. If U.S insists the tax rate, it will bring huge hit on China plywood industry.
 
It is learned that on September 27th, 2012, American Plywood Company Alliance filed “anti - dumping and anti – subsidy” investigation against Chinese plywood products to U.S. International Trade Commission and the U.S. Department of Commerce.  And on that day it was put on file by U.S. International Trade Commission, who started investigating officially on October 18th, 2012. According to reporters, the result of preliminary adjudication shall be published in April and final adjudication, in July.
