Diseased Pigs Incident Influenced Pork Consumption

China Agriculture Report By CnAgri2013-05-09 10:48:03China Agriculture Report Print Pork: On May 8th, in the pork wholesale markets of the 36 medium-and-large sized cities, the average price of pig carcass was RMB18.75Yuan/KG, up 0.59% compared with last week. For this week, the price of live hog was RMB12.43Yuan/KG, up 1.89% compared with last week. Domestic pork price rebounded slightly driven by May Day holiday effect and pork reserver. As it is reported nearly 40 tons meat of diseased pigs have been distributed to Hunan, Guangdong and Jiangxi etc, which to some extent has negative influences on pork consumption. It is predicted domestic pork price shall continue fluctuating at bottom. (Figure 1)
