Influences of Cadmium Rice Event on Rice Price

Futures price increased at both home andabroad. As for spot market, indica rice prices declined in general in SC influenced by cadmium rice event. With good weather condition in Heilongjiang, planting of keng rice went well and the price also saw certain decline.

Domestic rice price saw both increase and decrease and increased in general. But for imported rice, price continued decreasing with adequate supply and serious competiveness.

Meanwhile, cadmium content of Chinese rice is still lawful in many other countries, which maycause small amounts of rice to be exported and have impacts on international rice.
