Estimates of World Grain Production in 2013

China Agriculture Report By CnAgri2013-07-24 11:22:56China Agriculture Report Print World composite grain price index for the cash market was $401/MT in June, down 2.59% from the month before but up 1.42% on the year-on-year basis, adjusting for US currency value change.
 
Wheat, corn and rice prices were $323/MT, $335/MT and $642/MT respectively in June, down 5%, 0.82% and 0.8% respectively from the month before, up 6.12%, up 2.52% but down 0.56% respectively on the year-on-year basis, adjusting for US currency value change.
 
Harvested grain acreage and grain production in the world were 772 million hectares and 2.656 billion MT in 2012, down 0.27% and 2.39% respectively from the previous year.
 
Planted grain acreage and grain production are predicted to be 780 million hectares and 2.879 billion MT in the world in 2013, up 1.08% and 8.41% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
 
In 2012/2013 . Year-end grain inventory and safety index in the world are predicted to be 761 million MT and 31.60% respectively. Wheat, corn and rice Year-end grain inventory are180 million MT,265 million MT and 187million MT respectively. Wheat, corn and rice Year-end grain safety index are27.63%,29.5% and 36.8% respectively.
In 2013/14. Year-end grain inventory and safety index in the world are predicted to be 885 million MT and 35.08% respectively. Wheat, corn and rice Year-end grain inventory are178 million MT,332 million MT and 186million MT respectively. Wheat, corn and rice Year-end grain safety index are25.69%,34.8% and 36.6% respectively.
