Textile Industry’s Boom Index in June

China Agriculture Report By CnAgri2013-07-31 11:41:22China Agriculture Report Print China’s sales value of garments, shoes, hats and knitted wear totaled RMB88.58 billion in June and RMB541.5 billion in January ~ June, up 11.5% and 11.9% respectively on the year-on-year basis. Adjusting for price, the sales added 12.41% in the first half of this year on the year-on-year basis.
 
The nation’s medium and large enterprises’ garment sales grew 11.5%, knitted wear 12.5% and shoes and hats 9.5% in June on the year-on-year basis. Adjusting for price, their increase rates were 9.31%, 11.28% and 7.35% respectively.
 
On the whole, the nation’s garment consumption index was 10.86% in June, up 6.06% over the month before.
 
The textile industry realized an export value of $24.09 billion in June, up 5.25% on the year-on-year basis. Adjusting for currency value change, the export value added 4.84% on the year-on-year basis.
 
The textile industry’s domestic sale and exports added up to RMB237.26 billion in June and RMB1.371 trillion in January ~ June, up 9% and 17.2% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
 
Textile mills realized an added value growth of 8.0% and garment factories 5.8% in June, compared with the same period of last year. Adjusting for price, the textile industry enjoyed a 7% increase of added value.
 
The investment in the textile industry was RMB50.16 billion and the investment in the garment, shoes and hat industries was RMB31.57 billion in June, up 13.7% and 17.6% respectively on the year-on-year basis. Adjusting for price, their increase rates were 16.4% and 20.3% respectively.
 
Cotton and cotton yarn price dropped in June. Considering the decline of fuel price, the cost of yarn production was RMB5,601/MT (cotton cost excluded), suggesting a net profit of RMB407/MT and a profit rate of 1.56%.
 
The textile industry’s boom index picked up slightly in June to a level of 7.42.
