Wheat Supply in Different Provinces

China Agriculture Report By CnAgri2013-08-26 11:12:39China Agriculture Report Print According to the National Bureau of Statistics, flour production by medium and large mills registered 63.056 million MT in the first half of this year, an increase of 11.03% on the year-on-year basis.
 
Flour production went down in nine provinces but went up in Beijing, Henan, Jiangsu and Shaanxi. Wheat imports promoted flour production in Guangdong.
 
Flour production by top ten provinces totaled 58.77 million MT, up 10.82% on the year-on-year basis. Henan produced 24.81 million MT and Shandong 11.29 million MT in January ~ June, up 21.95% but down 9.2% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
 
BOABC estimates that 49.444 million MT wheat was consumed for flour production in the first half of this year, 0.86% more than the same period of last year. 93.2% of the wheat was consumed by top ten flour-producing provinces.
 
Wheat supply lagged behind flourmills’ demand in ten provinces, with the gap being 9.226 million MT in Henan and 2 million MT in Guangdong. Supply exceeded demand in Hebei, Xinjiang and Jiangsu by 5.71 million MT, 5.24 million MT and 2.81 million MT respectively.
