Output Prediction of Fruit and Vegetable in 2012/13

High price of fruit and vegetable of 2011-2012 stimulated farmers' enthusiasm, and in 2012-2013 both plant area and output may keep increasing.
 
The total area of orchard in 2011 was 11.83 million hectares, up by 2.5% year on year. The output reached 141 million tons, up by 9.5% year on year. It is expected that the total area of orchard in 2012 will be 12.29 million hectares, up by 3.9% year on year. The output reached 145 million tons, up by 2.7% year on year. The total area of orchard in 2013 is expected to be 12.80 million hectares, up by 4.1% year on year. The output will reach 150 million tons, up by 3.7% year on year.
 
The total growing area of vegetables in 2011 was 19.64 million hectares, up by 3.3% year on year. The output reached 679 million tons, up by 4.3% year on year. It is expected that the total growing area of vegetables in 2012 will be 19.98 million hectares, up by 1.8% year on year. The output will reach 697 million tons, up by 2.7% year on year. It is expected that the total growing area of vegetables in 2013 will be 20.20 million hectares, up by 1.1% year on year. The output will be 706 million tons, up by 1.2% year on year.
