Weekly Prices Livestock Products

Pork: On May 14th 2014, in the pork wholesale markets the average price of pig carcass was RMB17.32/KG, up 7.18% compared with last week. For this week, the price of live hog was RMB12.46/KG, up 10.76% compared with last week, After five months’ decline and four months’ loss, the pork price got the hard-won increase. The farmers were reluctant to sell; the slaughterhouses were forced to up the purchasing price, which make pork price had a further increase. It is very possible to keep rise before Dragon Boat Festival. From the relationship of supply and demand, the pork price is possible to decline. After Dragon Boat Festival, the demand will reach the lowest point of this year, while the live pork will continue to increase, so the pork price is very possible to decrease.
