Hog prices are 16.51yuan/kg in this week, down 2.08% from last week

(1) On March 3rd, 2017, the average wholesale price of pork carcass was 23.02yuan/kg in 36 large and medium-sized cities in China, decreasing 0.52% from last week. Hog prices are 16.51yuan/kg in this week, down 2.08% from last week.

Hog prices dropped in this week, the purchase volume of slaughterhouses was relatively stable. The average price of fattened foreign ternary hogs for slaughtering was 16.51yuan/kg nationwide; the highest price was 17.34yuan/kg in Sichuan, while the lowest price was 15.62yuan/kg in Liaoning.

Due to an increase in supply, hog prices possibly would drop slightly and range at 16.20-16.50 RMB/kg.

(2) During the past week, ratio between hog price and feed price was 9.46 and ratio between hog price and corn price was 5.59.

The profit of each link of China’s Hog breeding industry in last week was as follows:

Breeding link: the gross profit of hogs from self-raising-piglet was 512.63 RMB/Head, down 36.01 RMB/Head than last week; and gross profit of hogs from others-raising-piglet was 137.54 RMB/Head, decreasing 45.28 RMB/Head than last week.

Slaughter link: the gross profit of slaughtering enterprises, the ones on slaughtering bought hogs but not as agents, was 190.65 RMB/Head, up 22.33 RMB/Head than last week.

Wholesale link of pork: the gross profit was 20.79 RMB/Head, increasing 6.93 RMB/Head than last week.

Retail link of pork: the gross profit was about RMB 389.62 RMB/ Head, decreasing 7.07RMB/Head than last week.
