Hog prices declined in Q1, 2017, but the sales performance of listed companies increased to varying degrees

According to the monitoring data of BOABC, the average price of hogs was 16.91yuan/kg in Q1, 2017, down by 8.06% year on year. Although hog prices declined to some extent, the sales performance of listed companies increased to varying degrees as their sales volume of hogs rose.

In Q1, 2017, the sales volume of Wens, Muyuan and Truein respectively was 4.2751 million head, 1.2410 million head and 580,900 head, up 4.04%, 154.30% and 25.14% year on year; the sales revenue of them respectively was 8.488 billion yuan, 1.969 billion yuan and 926 million yuan, increasing 1.00%, 116.85% and 21.36% year on year. Especially, the sales performance of Muyuan increased sharply due to sharp growth in sales volume of hogs. The sales volume of Zhengbang only was 454,700 head, down 19.35% year on year, but its sales revenue increased 1.78% year on year.

Newly added capacity of hogs in domestic is increasing, it’s predicted that domestic hog prices will decline slightly, and the profits of domestic listed hog breeding companies will decrease to varying degrees.
