China’s Potash Industry is Speeding up Overseas Layout, with Planned Capacity of 20 Million MT
By CnAgri2017-05-26 10:43:59 PrintChina is a country that lacks potassium resource. National MOP capacity is around 8.5 million MT, however domestic demand is around 12 million MT. Along with planting structure and fertilization structure adjusting, the demand for potash is quickly growing.
In the fertilizer industry, potash sector went out earlier. After 2008, China reached an agreement with Laos on “money for resource and bilateral economic cooperation”, and the total capacity of MOP projects build in Laos by China has reached 5.85 million MT.
At the end of 2016, there had been more 30 potassium projects in North America, Southeast Asia, Africa, etc. Besides Laos, China is developing sylvite in Canada, Kazakhstan, Congo, etc, with planned capacity of nearly 20 million MT.
