MOA has attached great importance to dealing with the incident that thousands of pig carcasses were found floating in Huangpu River as of Saturday. The Ministry dispatched investigation groups to Zhejiang and Shanghai in a timely manner, in order to intensify supervision efforts and provide coordination support to local authorities. Besides, MOA notified all local veterinary departments to reinforce animal epidemic prevention from major regional outbreaks; and conduct stringent monitoring in bio-safety treatment to prevent dead animals from entering the market.
