Palm oil is one of the important replacements of tea seed oil that is known as “Orient olive oil”. While compared with olive oil, the advantages and disadvantages of tea seed oil are as follows:
 
Advantages：
1.    More Natural: both of this two kinds of oil are high – end, high nutrition and pure nature. By details: olive oil is from Mediterranean, and cultivated by artificial. Moreover its industrial processing and import transportation are all depend on man-made. While tea seed oil is from thickly forested mountains, without any man – made trace.
 
2.    More in line with Chinese cooking habits: most of olive oil can only be used for coleslaw, if the temperature is higher than 60℃, fume will appear. However tea seed oil smoke point is high, it not only can be used for coleslaw, but also for other gourmet food.
 
3.    More nutrition: tea seed oil contains more monounsaturated fatty acid than olive oil. Moreover the proportion of linolenic acid and linolic acid in tea seed oil is completely in conformity with international nutrition gold ratio of 1:4. Thus, eating tea seed oil can improve human immunity. Besides, tea seed oil contains rich Vitamin and trace elements.
 
Disadvantages：
1.    High cost: Olive oil has a complete industrial chain, with the international famous brands, and its production volume is between 2.5 MT- 3.2 MT. However, the yield of tea seed oil is only about 400,000 tons that is far lower than olive oil. Moreover, the most of present camellia oil forest is natural wild, with less output and low popularity.
 
2.    More Fake Tea Seed Oil: Many domestic tea seed oil systems are imperfect lacking necessary supervision. Thus, there are a lot of camellia oil adulteration incidents. 
 
3.    Lower popularity: Palm oil is known as the entire world, but only seldom people are familiar with tea seed oil.
