America Woods Import up to Two Years Highest

Increase of real estate operating rate in America played supports to woods processing mills in North America. Sawn timber output in northern America has exceeded average level of North America. In 2011, output of sawn timber increased most in northwestern America and Quebec in Canada. In August 2012, output of sawn timber in Quebec was 30% more than the same period of last year and output in western America firstly broke even with southern America, while the fact in the past was the former was more than the latter.
Recovery of American real estate increased output of not only domestic woods but also imported wooden products. Import of coniferous wood increased 9% in the third quarter, which is the quarter with most wood import since 2010.
Increase of demand for wood also promoted price rise. According to report from Random Lengths about American wood price, domestic price for southern pine increased 48% in November compared with last year and price for western hemlock rose 32%.
