Abamectin Benzoate Became Hottest In Pesticide Registration

China Agriculture Report By CnAgri2013-01-07 11:38:45China Agriculture Report Print      According to statistics from the ICAMA, the most registered pesticide was abamectin, chlorpyrifos, imidacloprid, glyphosate, abamectin benzoate, acetamiprid, and lambda-cyhalothrin. The registration of abamectin benzoate came up to 153 in 2012 from 64 in 2010, ranking 1st from 7th in 2010, marking the largest increase. While the abamectin, which was first from 2010 to 2011, fell to the 2nd.

The reason accounting for the fast increase of abamectin benzoate was that it was one of the most the cost-effective insecticides. Compared with similar pesticides, it has many advantages: 1) it was bio-pesticide with low residue and toxic. 2) It was super high-effective, can work with pretty low dosage, and it was effective against many insects. 3) Its insecticidal activity was 10 to 30 times than abamectin. 4) It was widely used, almost in all crops right now.

On the other hand, chlorpyrifos declined to 64 in 2012 from 125 in 2012, making it the one with the sharpest decrease. While abamectin, imidacloprid and glyphosate was very steady in recent years, and so was their ranking. This means that market of these varieties was relatively mature now, the new-entered enterprises tend to adapt a moderate strategy in producing and registration application.
