China’s Food Additives are Dominant on International Market


The total output value of China’s food additive accounts for about 10% of international trade, of which citric acid, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, sodium saccharin, xylitol, vitamin C, sodiummerythorbate and vitamin E, ethyl maltol and other varieties occupy the leading positions. In terms of food colorants, China has become the world’s largest country which produces and consumes food colorants, accounting for a certain share in the international trade. At present, there are nearly 2,500 varieties under 22 categories of China’s food additives, including 1,814 kinds of flavoring agents.
