Middle and Late Wheat Disease to Occur Seriously

By CnAgri2013-05-15 10:54:24 Print According to National Agricultural Technology Center, middle and late stage wheat disease is occurring seriously, total disease occurrence for the whole year is expected to be 32m hectares, while pest disease is expected to be over 30m hectares. The most serious diseases include head blight, stripe rust, powdery mildew, sheath blight and brown leaf rust. The most serious pests are aphid, wheat midge, 1st generation armyworm and gree wheat mite.
 
Head blight: expected to be over 7m hectares, more widely epidemic over last year. It is likely to outbreak in Jianghan Plain of Hubei, Anhui, Regions alongside of the Huai River and northern. Its peak time will be middle and late April in Yangtze River, late April to early May in Huanghuai area and North China.
 
Stripe rust: 2m hectares, almost the same as 2012. It is likely to outbreak in Gansu and Shaanxi. And its peak time will be from middle and late April to late May.
 
Powdery mildew: 6.7m hectares, more serious than 2012. It will occur seriously in Sichuan, Henan and the Northwest. The peak time will be from middle April to May.
 
Sheath blight: 9m hectares, almost the same as 2012. It will occur seriously in Henan, Hubei, Anhui and Jiangsu, the peak time will be from late April to early May.
 
Aphid: 16.5m hectares, a bit slighter than 2012. It will outbreak in Hebei and Shandong, and seriously in North China, Huanhuai Area, Jiangsu, Anhui and most of the Northwest.
 
Wheat midge: 2.7m hectares, more serious than 2012. It will occur seriously in middle and southern Hebei, Guanzhong Area of Shaanxi and northern Henan, the peak time will be from late April to middle May.
 
1st generation armyworm: 1.7m hectares, more serious than 2012. It will occur seriously in East China and Middle China, peak time will be late April to early May.
 
Gree wheat mite: 6m hectares, slighter than 2012. It will occur moderate in North China, Huanghuai and Jianghuai Area, and Jiangsu province. In Huanghuai area and North China, the peak time will be in middle and late April, while in the Northwest, it will be from middle May to early June.
