Record High Rapeseed Production in Hubei in 2013

By CnAgri2013-07-17 10:41:12 Print According to Hubei Agricultural Bureau, Hubei’s summer-harvested rapeseed acreage, rapeseed production and yield are 1.226 million hectares, 2.646 million MT and 2,158kg/hectare respectively this year, exceeding last year by 5%, 15% and 9.5% respectively. The province has remained the nation’s No. 1 rapeseed producer for eighteen years.
 
Rapeseed crop is blessed with a fine weather in Hubei this year. 65% of the fields are planted directly instead of seedling transplanting, 10% more than last year. Rapeseed crop density reaches 345,000 plants per hectare, 5,000 ones more than last year.
 
According to Hubei Grain Bureau, the province procured 1.29 million MT rapeseeds by July 8, an increase of 163,000 MT over last year.
