Cotton Imports in 2012/2013
By CnAgri2013-07-17 10:54:30 Print According to the customs, China’s cotton imports were 269,800 MT in June, 21.97% less than the month before and 43.32% less than the same period of last year.Cotton imports totaled 2.411 million MT in the first half of this year and 4.087 million MT between August of 2012 and June of 2013, less than the same period of last year by 21.07% and 17.18% respectively, attributable to bumper harvest at home in 2012, large quantities of cotton yarn imports and the slowdown of textile and garment exports.
BOABC anticipates 4.316 million MT cotton imports in 2012/2013, of which 4.273 million MT are estimated to be uncombed cotton.
