Paddy Supply in Different Provinces

China Agriculture Report By CnAgri2013-08-27 11:06:22China Agriculture Report Print According to the National Bureau of Statistics, rice production by medium and large mills registered 54.177 million MT in the first half of this year, an increase of 13.23% on the year-on-year basis.
 
Rice production went down in nine provinces but increased in the Northeast because of large grain companies’ investment in the Northeast.
 
Rice production by ten top provinces totaled 79.6 million MT in January ~ June, 91.56% of the nation’s total. Rice production was 9.6 million MT in Hubei, 7.314 million MT in Heilongjiang, 5.193 million MT in Anhui and 4.97 million MT in Jilin, up 24.86%, 35.67%, 15.63% and 1.65% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
 
Paddy supply fell short of rice mills’ demand in eleven provinces, for instances, 13.67 million MT in Hubei, 10.99 million MT in Jilin, 8.79 million MT in Anhui and 8.1 million MT in Liaoning. But supply exceeded rice mills’ demand by 10.78 million MT in Jiangxi, 9.865 million MT in Guangdong, 7.91 million MT in Guangxi and 7.388 million MT in Hunan, because indica production was subdued by large quantities of imported rice.
