China Flour Production & Consumption in Sept. 2013

China Agriculture Report By CnAgri2013-11-13 10:41:01China Agriculture Report Print According to the National Bureau of Statistics, flour production by medium and large mills registered 11.441 million MT in Sept. Deducting repetitive statistics, BOABC estimates that flour production was about 6.674 million MT, a drop of 0.89% on the year-on-year basis.
 
Flour production totaled 56.084 million MT in Jan. ~ Sept., a growth of 0.88% on the year-on-year basis. Taking into account of carryin and imports, flour supply was 7.376 million MT in Sept., up 1.28% on the year-on-year basis.
 
Flour consumption was 6.621 million MT in Sept., including 6.356 million MT for food use, 229,000 MT for feed production and 34,000 MT for industrial uses.
 
Of the flour consumed for food use, 2.988 million MT were consumed by urban households, 1.759 million MT by the catering industry and 1.611 million MT by the food industry. Flour consumption by rural households, restaurants, the food industry and urban households accounted for 34.23%, 26.48%, 24.26% and 10.76% of the total food-use consumption respectively.
 
Flour wholesale price was RMB3,092/MT in Sept. and RMB3,085/MT in Jan. ~ Sept., up 8.23% and 9.4% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
 
Flour inventory was 735,000 MT at the end of Sept., slightly less than the month before.
