Tilapia Exports in 2013

China’s Tilapia exports registered 269,000 MT in Jan. ~ Sept., valuing $930 million, up 6.7% and 16% respectively on the year-on-year basis. Of the total, 142,400 MT were frozen Tilapia fillets.

Despite the increased exports, Chinese exporters faced fierce competition with Egypt, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Brazil.
