Costs and benefits of wheat planting in 2016

per unit area yield of wheat in main producing areas was 6226kg/hectare in 2016, decreasing 1.36% from the year before; wheat prices increased in late 2016, annual farmers’ price was 2332yuan/ton, increasing 0.13% from the year before; output value was 14516yuan/hectare, decreasing 1.23% year on year. Farmers’ cash income was 8321yuan/hectare, increasing 2.18% from the year before. Output reduction pushed prices up sharply in late 2016, and then brought about the growth of total cash income.

From production cost, total planting cost of wheat was 14564yuan/hectare in 2016, decreasing 1.23% from the year before; of which, cash cost was 8321yuan/hectare, increasing 2.18% from the year before. In terms of cost structure, material and service cost was 6065yuan/hectare, decreasing 6.065% year on year; labor cost was 5673yuan/hectare, increasing 3.79% year on year; land cost was2825yuan/hectare, decreasing 5.67% year on year.

Profit per unit area: the net profit was 343 yuan/hectare in 2016, increasing 31.26% from the year before; cost-profit ratio was 2.97%. Net profit and cost-profit ratio both were in historical low level.

Production expectation in 2017: the output value is predicted to be 15835yuan/hectare, of which, cash income will be 9511yuan/hectare. The total cost will be 14758yuan/hectare, of which, cash cost is 6714yuan/hectare. Per unit area net profit will reach 1467yuan/hectare, the cost-profit ratio will be 1.95%, a historical low level.
