Along with Corn Planting Margins Less than Soybean in Heilongjiang, More Soybean Would be Planted Instead of Corn in 201

According to BOABC’s investigation, whether in self-owned land or rented land, soybean planting margins all were higher than corn planting margins in Heilongjiang in 2016.

(1) Corn output value was almost the same as soybean in Heilongjiang. According to investigation, 2016 soybean output value recorded at RMB 570/mu; however, due to a drop in purchase price, corn output value of most farmers decreased to RMB 615/mu, only RMB 45/mu higher than soybean. (2) Corn planting costs in Heilongjiang were far higher than soybean. Due to high material inputs such as fertilizer, pesticide, agricultural film and machinery, as well as labor costs, corn production costs were RMB 300/mu higher than soybean. (3) There were no big differences between the subsidies for soybean and corn planting in Heilongjiang. So, for self-owned land, soybean planting margins were RMB 231/mu higher than corn; for rented land, corn planting saw the loss of RMB 240/mu, however, soybean planting saw profit and loss balance. Besides, if it is listed in the pilot of soybean rotation instead of corn, the extra subsidies of RMB 150/mu will be gained.

Influenced by planting margins, 2017 soybean planting areas would increase, but corn planting areas would reduce, and substitution planting would focus on traditional soybean planting areas such as the fourth and fifth accumulated temperature zones of Heilongjiang.
