​Affected by H7N9 and sufficient supply of broilers, the prices of commercial chicks only were 0.83yuan/bird in the first half of 2017, decreasing 2.2yuan/bird from that in the same period last year, and the prices of parental white broiler chicks once dropped to 8yuan/set in June, decreasing 72yuan/set from that at the beginning of 2017 and dropping by 44yuan/set from that in the same period last year, which made the breeding profit of parental breeding birds fall into a loss again. How will the prices of parental breeding chicks change?

　　

　　(1) In terms of GP breeding bird inventory: as important source countries including the USA, France and Spain of breeding birds have been closed one by one, China’s inventory of GP breeding birds in production decreased slightly, the proportion of forced molting declined, so the supply of parental chicks will be tight later.

　　

　　(2) As for parental breeding birds: the sales volume of parental chicks decreased 14% year on year in the first half of 2017, so the inventory of parental breeding birds in production is decreasing.

　　

　　(3) From the perspective of commercial broilers, the prices of broilers with feather were low, broiler breeding profit was in breakeven state, and farmers were not active in buying chicks in the first half of 2017. Broiler supply will decrease and prices of broilers with feather will go up in the second half of 2017, which will drive the prices of commercial chicks up.

　　

　　In conclusion, the prices of parental birds have dropped to the lowest level in recent years after the adjustment in the first half of 2017, and the inventory of parental breeding birds starts to drop, it’s predicted that the prices of parental chicks will stop decreasing to rebound in the second half of 2017.
