African swine fever promotes transformation and upgrading of feed industry in China
By CnAgri2018-09-27 16:21:02 Print The impact of current African swine fever has spread to feed industry, which together with the provision on the prohibition of antibiotics in feed to be implemented in 2020, will accelerate the transformation and upgrading of feed industry in next 1-2 years.About 70% of small scale farmers in China use swill to feed pigs and have established long-term cooperative relations with restaurants. Since the outbreak of African swine fever in August, swill has been listed as the primary infection source. At present, under the government's order, feeding pigs with swill is banned and replaced by feed, and feed industry will usher in a new growth period in next 1-2 years.
At present, African swine fever is serious, the bio-safety awareness of the entire industrial chain is strengthened, pig-raising enterprises are strengthening cooperation with feed enterprises, and outsourcing and centralized procurement of feed becomes the trend, which can reduce costs of farms as well as greatly lower bio-safety risks caused by contacting with the outside world.
Alternative new products of pig plasma protein feed will be an opportunity for companies with technology research and development strength, which will reconstruct the market structure.
