China approves Syngenta’s fungicide fenpropidin

China Agriculture Report By CnAgriChina Agriculture Report Print Syngenta has recently received the LS registration approval for the fungicide fenpropidin 96% TC from the Chinese Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture (ICAMA) for one year, becoming the first company to register the product in China. It has also obtained the registration for its mixture emulsion product (fenpropidin + propiconazole) for wheat powdery mildew.

Fenpropidine is a systemic and curative piperidine fungicide acting as sterol biosynthesis inhibitor with special effect on erysiphe graminis, rhynchosporium secalis and puccinia. The spraying dosage on cereal crop is 760g/ha. It can prevent barley powdery mildew and rust if spraying at 500~700g(a.i.)/ha. The effectiveness lasts about 28 days.

Currently,  fenpropidine has been registered in EU, UK, New Zealand, Portugal and many other countries.
