Changes on China Timber Price Index (TPI) in November 2017

By CnAgri2018-01-11 14:40:26 Print According to the Ministry of Commerce Circulation Industry Development Department and China Timber and Wood Products Distribution Association, in November 2017, China timber price index was 133.1%, up by 24.3 percent points YOY, but down by 1.6 percent points MOM.
 
(1) The domestic timber price decreased by 16.3 percent points YOY and declined by 4.2 percent points MOM; the imported timber increased by 54.3 percent points YOY, and raised by 0.2 percent points MOM.
 
(2) Log price: log price increased by 6.4 percent points YOY, but decreased by 5.5 percent points MOM. Among that, the price of domestic coniferous log declined 5.2 percent points YOY; domestic hardwood log decreased by 31.5 percent points YOY; the price of imported coniferous log increased 59.6 percent points YOY; imported hardwood log raised by 108.7 percent points YOY.
 
(3) Sawn timber price: sawn timber increased by 6.4 percent points YOY but decreased by 5.5 percent points MOM. among that, the price of domestic coniferous sawn timber decreased by 15.5 percent points YOY; domestic hardwood sawn timber increased by 2.7 percent points YOY. The price of Imported coniferous sawn timber raised by 18.7 percent points; imported hardwood sawn timber increased by 31.2 percent points YOY.
 
Influenced by stricter environmental protection and the rising import prices, the price index is expected to remain at a high level with gentle fluctuations.
