Purchasing and Storage Policy did no Help to Pork Price

China Agriculture Report By CnAgri2013-04-18 10:59:36China Agriculture Report Print Pork: On April 17th, 2013, in the pork wholesale markets of the 36 medium-and-large sized cities, the average price of pig carcass was RMB18.42Yuan/KG, down 0.91% compared with last week. For this week, the price of live hog was RMB12.21Yuan/KG, down 1.61% compared with last week. Pork price saw no reboud this week and went on declining. On April 7th, the government published purchasing and storage policy of pork and all areas had different reactions over it: pork price went up slightly boosted by the policy and in the south, pork price continued decreasing. According to BOABC, hog market shall see recovery with the start of the policy. But as the bird flu has made consumers inconfident in meat. It is predicted in general pork price shall keep weak and increase slightly in some ares. (Figure 3)
