Rapeseed Crushers in the Red

By CnAgri2013-05-15 10:43:13 Print China’s rapeseed production is predicted to be RMB9.6 million MT in 2013/2014, a growth of 5% on the year-on-year basis.
 
Subject to rising labor cost, farm material cost, power rate and water rate, the cost of rapeseed production is estimated to increase RMB300/hectare over last year.
 
Due to bearish rapeseed and rapeseed oil price, rapeseed mills that crush domestic seeds and imported seeds suffer a respective loss of RMB180/MT and RMB100/MT currently.
 
Crushers are inactive in rapeseed procurement at present and the procurement price of the crop is predicted to be RMB5,100/MT this year, parallel to last year.
