Flour & Rice Consumption by Food Industry in Aug.

China’s wheaten and rice food production was estimated to be 2.196 million MT in Aug., 7.8% more than the month before and 14.9% more than the same period of last year. Wheaten and rice food production totaled 15.99 million MT in Jan. ~ Aug., an increase of 22.67% on the year-on-year basis.
 
Snack noodles production recorded 932,300 MT in Aug. and 6.609 million MT in Jan. ~ Aug., up 4.47% and 12.69% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
 
Fast-frozen wheaten and rice food production was 488,600 MT in Aug. and 3.474 million MT in Jan. ~ Aug., up 16.87% and 17.8% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
 
Cookie and cake productions were estimated to be 602,000 MT and 173,100 MT respectively in Aug.
 
1.357 million MT flour was consumed in Aug. and 9.79 million MT in Jan. ~ Aug. for food production, up 10.79% and 17.66% respectively on the year-on-year basis.
 
Flour consumption by the food industry accounted for 12.39% of medium and large flourmills’ production in Aug. and 11.58% in Jan. ~ Aug.
 
200,400 MT rice was consumed in Aug. and 1.479 million MT in Jan. ~ Aug. by the food industry, 22.84% and 31.36% more than the same period of last year respectively.
