Guangxi to Raise Sugar Production to 11 Million Tons in 2017

Guangxi shall stabilize cane acreage at 16 million mu till 2017, shall raise annual cane sugar production to 11 million tons and the sales revenue shall amount to 165 billion yuan. After five to eight years, a recyclable sugar economy shall take shape in Chongzuo, Laibin, Nanning and Liuzhou, the national largest online sugar trading platform shall be established and a sugar reserve mechanism shall be built up, so that the role of Guangxi in guaranteeing sugar supply to the nation shall become more prominent.From “China Sugar Market Monthly Report”
