Pollution Prevention & Treatment Regulations for Scale Livestock Production

By CnAgri2013-10-21 11:38:52 Print The State Council has recently approved the draft of Pollution Prevention & Treatment Regulations for Scale Livestock Production. The major content is as follows:
 
First, livestock farms are prohibited to be set up in areas of water resource protection, places of interests and scenic spots. Second, environmental evaluation must be carried out before the construction or expansion of livestock farms. Livestock waste disposal measures must be taken into account in the evaluation. Third, livestock waste disposal or utilization facilities must be set up for livestock farms or production zones. The utilization of livestock waste is eligible for preferential tax policies.
 
BOABC considers that the above requirements may result in a high threshold for newcomers in the livestock industry and a high livestock product price in the future.
