According to the Customs, in May 2015 agricultural products import value dropped.
Agricultural products import and export. According to the customs, China’s farm product imports valued $9.79 billion in May and totaled $45.9 billion respectively in Jan. - May, the former figure down by 9.5% year-on-year. Trade deficit of farm products was $3.97 billion (24.295 billion Yuan), down by 15.45% YOY, accounting for2.1% of total export value.
As for agricultural investment, it totaled 150.1 billion Yuan in May. For specific industry, investment in planting, forestry, animal husbandry, fishery and agricultural service industry registered 73.063 billion Yuan, 23.941 billion Yuan, 44.079 billion Yuan, 9.004 billion Yuan, and 33.46 billion Yuan respectively, up by 43.25%, 24.20%, 16.99%, 26.6% and 20.79% respectively year on year.
As for grain import, in May, the total imported value was 3.77 billion USD, down by 10.3% YOY, and the monthly import volume was 10.15 million tons, up by 22.6% YOY, what’s more the import volume was 3.77 million tons, down by 26.7% YOY.
China veg oil imports were 470,000 million tons, valuing 354 million dollars with average price of RMB753Yuan/T in May, down by 18.97%, 36.31% and 21.40% respectively on the year-on-year basis. The import value accounted for 3.62% of total import value of agricultural products. Imports of rapeseed oil totaled 538,800 tons, valuing 254 million dollars.
Edible animal products imports were 545,000T, valuing 1.26 billion dollars with average price of USD2305/MT, down by 15.91%, and 29.09% and 15.68% respectively on the Year-on-year basis. The import value accounted for12.6% of total import value of agricultural products.
As for imports of other agricultural products, cotton imports were 163,000 T, valuing 0.28 billion dollars, the latter accounting for 2.9% of total import value of agricultural products. Special nuts were 410,000 tons, valuing 617 million dollars, and the latter accounting for 6.3% of total import value of agricultural products.
